Bridal Hair and Make-up Trends 2019

Oh hey there…

Now that January is done and buried its time to get excited about spring and summer, and what better way to get in the mood than to check out this years bridal trends. I for one am getting very excited for all the weddings that are up and coming this year and I cannot wait to share with you all the beautiful hair and make-up that I will be doing!

The vibe this year is continuing on from 2018 with a very soft focus glow and dewy skin. Think fresh faced, flushed cheeks and nude eyes, when your skin is perfect so it the rest of your makeup. A few of my favourite make-up artist to watch at the moment are Nikki Makeup and Kate Hughes. Both really focus on making the skin look flawless but still natural. I personally love this look and will definitely be seeing this on my brides this year.

As I mentioned above, a nude eye is definitely on trend, and by nude I don’t mean nothing- I mean soft colours that are just used where you need them. Drawing attention to a graphic liner or blended and muted tones with lashings of mascara and pretty lashes (real or false!)

Whether you want a bold and colourful lip which matches in with the bridesmaids or perhaps a more subtle colour lips are going away from the matte and dry look this year. Its all about moisture and keeping those lips looking plump, glossy and totally kissable once you get to the end of the isle!

Bronzed and beautiful… all about the glow and making your skin look fresh, natural and sun-kissed. Think a mix between beach babes with freckles and glamorous and groomed!

Your job is not to outdo the bride, you’ve got to look beautiful but not draw any attention away from the girls big day! Soft greys, Muted taupes and glossy lips do the job perfectly and its an easy look to maintain when you’re running around fussing the bride!

The hair trend is staying natural and looks not too ‘done’ however its going away from the messy boho bride and more ‘I just woke up like this’ with perfectly smooth yet pinned back without trying. We are seeing lots of half up half down styles you get the glamour and height and still the comfort of having your hair down framing your face.

I’m seeing a lot of opposites to the bride this year, so if the bride has her hair down then the bridesmaid have it up and vice versa. I’m seeing a trend shift away from braids and plaits and twists are replacing them. Its a great way of everyone being uniform and a nice link to the brides hair.
